President Obama and his Progressive partners in crime have squandered billions of dollars of taxpayer money on a pipe dream called green jobs. It is time to put a stop to the funding of this boondoggle. There is a reason that the private will not invest in these “environmentally friendly” products. They are not profitable.
If they were, we wouldn’t need taxpayer money to start a solar panel company, or one that makes wind turbines or any of the other scatterbrained fantasies the left wing loonies pine for. Entrepreneurs would already be making them!
The ironic part of the entire mess is that the failure of these companies to make a product that can actually be priced at the point people will buy them is a direct result of the unfriendly business environment that the Obama Administration has created. Not only do normal companies have a problem creating and sustaining jobs in the Obamaliptic era, these green technology companies are finding the inhospitable atmosphere equally unbearable.
And even on a good day their costs, due to the over-regulation by the Federal Government, far exceed what the product will actually sell for.
A 100 Watt equivalent light bulb made by a North Carolina “green” Company pushed by Obama costs $127! And they complain that Chinese companies use cheap labor to undersell this American corporation (funded by taxpayers). A recent trip to Lowe’s Home Improvement Center actually proved this fact. A LED bulb – 100 Watts – made in China was cheaper. It was only $50.00!
Sorry, but I won’t be buying the Chinese versions either. One wonders how many of the LED bulbs the Chinese actually sell in China. More likely, they are laughing all the way to the bank as the Chinese people burn the old “Edison” bulb at a fraction of the cost.
Sadly, America is no longer able to manufacture much of anything competitively. Unions have seen to that!
Progressives love to blame “cheap Chinese labor” for producing the same green products they lust for at a far cheaper price. Yet they never stop to ponder that perhaps it is expensive American Union labor that is to blame, and not unfair competition.
And while Obama has proven his ideology will take America to the poor house, he demands that we do it again. And again.
Let me make this as clear as possible: Not one more dime for Green jobs should be paid for with tax dollars. They are no better off than any other business floundering in the Obama business environment.
It is clear. We must not pour good money after bad. We simply cannot afford it.
